How can Ukraine's civil society organizations become more effective and resilient? How can they build enough organizational capacity to carry out important social and humanitarian projects? How can they overcome the difficulties of strategic fundraising and find new opportunities for growth?
These and other topics will be studied in detail by the NGOs taking part in the ImpactCheck project from the interactive learning platform FUNdraiser during the course.
What is ImpactCheck?
It is an educational course aimed at supporting and developing civil society organizations (NGOs) across Ukraine. This project will help 120 NGOs increase their capacity, develop key skills, and adapt the best international practices to deliver effective programs in their communities.
Training begins on 17 February.
Project goal
To provide civil society organizations with the knowledge and tools they need to strengthen their work. Special emphasis is placed on fundraising, resource management, and aligning organizations with international standards, which will help them successfully pass the comprehensive integrity assessment (Due Diligence Assessment). Organizations will be able to adapt their structure to widely accepted standards, significantly increasing their chances of successfully passing the due diligence procedure.
Course structure
The course consists of three main stages that give participants theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and individual support:
1. Online learning consists of 5 modules running from 17 February to 23 March. Each week brings a new module. Schedule: Monday, release of theoretical materials, Tuesday, Mastermind group on Zoom at 19:00 (up to 2 hours), Thursday, practical session on Zoom at 19:00 (up to 2 hours).
2. Offline intensive: a three-day intensive for 30 NGOs that successfully completed the online program and passed the selection. Participants will work through the practical application of the knowledge they have gained and take part in project pitching sessions, masterminds, and a specially designed game, "Funds Hunter."
3. Mentorship program: the 10 organizations that show the highest level of engagement will receive 11 weeks of mentorship support!
Who is the program for?
The project aims to engage 120 civil society organizations (NGOs), including civic organizations; youth organizations; humanitarian organizations; organizations based on community development principles; women's organizations; educational organizations; organizations working in healthcare; environmental organizations; organizations protecting the rights of people with disabilities; and social justice organizations.
Priority participants
We invite NGOs that have 1 to 5 years of operating experience; represent various sectors, including youth, women's, environmental, educational, and other organizations; show motivation to grow and implement change in their work; and have a team of up to 50 people.
Priority is given to organizations from eastern Ukraine and those working closer to the contact lines.
Benefits of taking part in the project
Participating in the course offers a number of unique opportunities: Access to learning resources: participants will receive methodological materials that remain available even after the course ends. Funding opportunity: the best projects will receive €1,000 in funding to strengthen their NGO's capacity. Networking: forming a community of NGOs to exchange experience and support one another. An individual approach: mentorship support and adaptation to the needs of each organization. A practical focus: the program is oriented toward the real challenges and tasks that Ukrainian NGOs face. Development of practical skills: participants will gain experience in fundraising, project management, strategic planning, and building effective communication strategies.
